Counselling for Anxiety and Depression
It is normal for us to experience some levels of anxiety in our lives, but for some people anxiety can become overwhelming and debilitating. It can prevent us from building healthy relationships, making positive life choices and leading fulfilling, happy lives.
Anxiety can also lead to unhealthy and self-destructive behaviours such as eating disorders, self-harm, compulsion and addiction.
Feeling that you are unable to control your anxiety can lead to depression. Other causes of depression can be: past experiences and trauma, major life events e.g. loss of job, relationship, bereavement; physical and mental health issues; genetics, medication, sustained lack of sleep.
Counselling can help you to recognise and understand the causes of your anxiety and depression, resolve past and present issues and develop more helpful patterns of thinking and behaviour.
